Plays-in-the-Park: A chorus line

Middlesex County’s Plays-in-the-Park will close its 60th season with A Chorus Line. “A Chorus Line” is scheduled for August 3-13. The show explores the inner workings and aspirations of professional Broadway gypsies and captures the spirit and excitement of a Broadway choral audition.

The event also includes live dinosaur shows and interactive science and art activities like a fossil dig. Below this clown castle are acrobats of the air, illusionists, freaks, mysterious creatures and all the elements that make you think of a “normal” circus – but have nothing to do with a typical experience at The Big Top. This new show is a combination of fun and fear that takes you into a dark world that is a mix of circus, theater and cabaret where there are dreams, nightmares and fantasies. Must be 13 to enter.

Freehold Township PBA Local 209 is hosting its 35th Annual Clambake featuring shrimp, steak, beer, wine, soda, all-you-can-eat steamers, burgers, clams, hot dogs, corn on the cob and salad. The food is prepared by Texas Roadhouse. The Phil Engel Band will provide the background music.

All American Summer Afternoon Festival
The perfect summer afternoon wouldn’t be complete without a BBQ, music, prizes, vendors and a fire pit. Support Freehold Elks Lodge 1454 and the Veterans Committee. Proceeds benefit soldiers and women in the military, including those who are homeless or suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder.
